In the addition of energy, 3 + 9 = 12, the digital root of which becomes 1 + 2 = 3, returning the Jiva to its prior state. Similarly, in the addition of regulation, 6 + 9 = 15, the digital root of which becomes 1 + 5 = 6, binding the ego within its own confines. This addition sustains duality instead of non-duality, and this is the dependent state where the Jiva must experience its accumulated destiny (Prarabdha) and the fruits of its actions; for as long as the separate 'I' exists, liberation from the bonds of karma is impossible.
